Mr Seelarathna is a seasoned media executive, journalist, and public communications strategist with extensive experience in broadcasting, print media, and government communications. He currently serves as Chairman of CAMG Lanka Media Network and Managing Editor of Ceylonese Magazine, alongside roles as a Board Member at the National Institute of Language Education and Training and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya. His career includes leadership positions such as Director of Programs at China Radio International Sri Lanka FM 97.9, Director Editorial at The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd, and Chairman of the State Radio Advisory Board (National Arts Council). He has also served as Media Secretary to the Prime Minister (twice), Media Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, and Coordinating Secretary for the President (North & East). An alumnus of the Broadcasting University of China, he has received numerous accolades, including the ‘Kala Bhooshana’ state honor, ‘Foreign Expert Award’ (China Radio International), and ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the Mihindu Foundation in Melbourne, Australia. With a strong background in media leadership, policy advisory, and international broadcasting collaborations, he continues to be a key influencer in media development, public communication, and diplomatic engagement.
